Intermediate Coach – Ashleigh Ezard

Ash has been involved with the Swimming Club since 2007 when she swam and competed with LLSC until 2016. She started assisting coaching the Juniors alongside Liz Jenkins from 2011 to 2014. Ash then took a break from swimming to focus on her Year 12 ATAR studies before starting at Curtin University for a Bachelor of Primary Education in 2016. While in her early years of university, Ash completed her AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Access and Inclusion, AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes and ASCTA Bronze Coaching License qualifications. In 2016/2017, Ash taught Learn to Swim lessons for toddlers through to adults at Swan Park Leisure Centre before taking a role coaching at Swan Hills Swimming Club.

Since re-joining Lesmurdie Legends Swimming Club as the Intermediate Squad Coach in October 2017, Ash has seen her squad progress to new heights. The number of swimmers in her squad has increased, more swimmers are participating in competitions and many of her swimmers qualify and compete at each Junior States. Ash continues to work with the Department of Education as a Swimming Instructor delivering swimming lessons to many of the schools in the Kalamunda/Lesmurdie area. The key strength of Ash’s coaching program is its ability to progress swimmers to State level through technical development and individualised training in a fun, engaging and competitive environment.
